Ability Grows
Ability Grows is a community-focused plant shop and horticultural learning project based in Greenfield, North Wales, operated as part of Clocktower CIC. The project combines a working retail plant shop with meaningful, hands-on activities for vulnerable adults with a range of physical, emotional, and learning disabilities.
The shop sells indoor and house plants alongside complementary growing products, with many plants cultivated and cared for as part of structured, therapeutic sessions. Participants develop confidence, practical skills, and a sense of purpose through activities such as propagation, plant care, stock preparation, and shop presentation.
Ability Grows also plays a wider role in local regeneration and community wellbeing, linking closely with the developing Greenfield Community Garden and other Clocktower initiatives. The project promotes sustainability, environmental awareness, and social inclusion while generating income to help support ongoing disability services.
