IF SO WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FRIEND/SUPPORTER OF HOLYWELL WALKERS ARE WELCOME GROUP AND HELP DVELOP WALKING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE AREA?

Holywell is the gateway to some of the best countryside in North East Wales. This includes the 1,800 acre Halkyn and Brynford Common and a network of public footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes linking the town with unspoiled villages in its rural hinterland, most of which until now have remained largely unexplored except by local walkers.

Holywell is accredited as a Nationally recognised Walkers are Welcome town the only town in Flintshire.

Walkers are Welcome towns and villages are places which have something special to offer walkers and Holywell and District certainly has more than most to offer.

Obtaining Walkers are Welcome status, as a growing number of communities across Britain are doing, brings a number of benefits, helps strengthen a town’s reputation as a place for visitors to come to enjoy the outdoors, bringing useful benefits to the local economy. It helps to ensure that footpaths and facilities for walkers are maintained in good condition, benefiting local people as well as visitors. It can contribute to local tourism plans and regeneration strategies.

This is a great opportunity to join or assist a group of people who are keen passionate and enthusiastic in helping develop Holywell and surrounding area further as a walking destination for locals and also a place where people want to come and visit and walk in our beautiful local area.
