As part of our Wales in Bloom entry, Holywell has a Schools in Bloom competition; local primary schools enter with engagement from staff and pupils in planting and looking after plants as well as schemes to promote recycling and biodiversity.

This year we are delighted to announce that our worthy winners are Ysgol Maesglas! The Mayor presented the trophy and was particularly impressed with how the pupils and staff had coped with the adverse weather conditions this year and their commitment to biodiversity and recycling – congratulations to all involved!

The Mayor also wanted to give mention to the worthy runners up at Ysgol Gwenffrwd. As it was such a close run competition, the Mayor presented pupils and staff with a Certificate of Commendation for their efforts.

As part of Wales in Bloom the judge will be visiting on 20th July; Holywell Town Council would like to thank all the schools, community groups, charities and members of the public who have put in so much effort in the town this year in preparation for the judging.
