Walkers are Welcome is a U.K. wide, community led network of accredited towns whose purpose is to develop and promote walking in areas with something different to offer.

Holywell is accredited as a Nationally recognised Walkers are Welcome town the only town in Flintshire. Walkers are Welcome towns and villages are places which have something special to offer walkers and Holywell and District certainly has more than most to offer. Obtaining Walkers are Welcome status, as a growing number of communities across Britain are doing, brings a number of benefits, helps strengthen a town’s reputation as a place for visitors to come to enjoy the outdoors, bringing useful benefits to the local economy. It helps to ensure that footpaths and facilities for walkers are maintained in good condition, benefiting local people as well as visitors. It can contribute to local tourism plans and regeneration strategies.

This is a great opportunity to join or assist a group of people who are keen passionate and enthusiastic in helping develop Holywell and surrounding area further as a walking destination for locals and also a place where people want to come and visit and walk in our beautiful local area.
